We will be playing at the hotel and not at The Checkerboard Grill as originally planned because of unavailable nearby hotel accommodations.
Registration will be handled in the playing room at Lodge America of Greensboro, between 8:00 - 9:00 AM on Thursday morning, May 18th. Play will get underway by 10:00 AM Thursday following a short business meeting. The entry fee is $15.00. Any contributions to support the Prize Fund will be appreciated. NCCA has committed $1,000.00 to the prize fund. There will be plenty of discount/meal coupons from local restaurants to be given away as door prizes. As in the past, the tournament will be played under the Three-Move Restriction Style of Play, using the Swiss System of scoring. There will be 7 rounds at 4 games per round. This Ty will crown a new NC Champion, so with a group of good players who are closely matched we score the round as a mini-match between opponents and not scoring the individual 4 games; therefore, "winner-takes-all." A "bye round" earns 4 points. Tim Laverty - Scorekeeper. We plan to have enough players to play all three class divisions. We will play 3 rounds Thursday, 3 rounds Friday, and finish with one round Saturday to permit early travel back home.
